More info. Wow……Sitka sounds like they are really pumped about this contest and the groups progress.

 Wow

You got wifi in Pruth Bay? I didn’t think there was anything more than a rustic park there. Someone must have a satellite dish and a wifi service or does the Park service have a “satellite phone” service which might give them email OR is there cell phone coverage there and if so what system – Rogers or Telus? Could you be stealing wifi off some other boat in the harbor who has an un-protected satellite/cell based wifi system?

Please email me the results so far. This “race reports” has been getting a life of its own. There is a shop owner in Sitka charting your progress on a chart in her store. I will talk about it in my blurb at the QCYC club meeting tonight.

Thanks

Bob

Hi Bob,

I checked my internet access here in Pruth Bay and am surprised to find success.  The whole Alaska fleet made the Queen Charlotte crossing in the best water most had seen.  Unfortunately the "Wandrian" felt it in their best interest to stay in the Broughtons and not  continue on to Alaska.  We passed up our Skull Cove stop as the water was so good we all felt it prudent to keep on going to Pruth Bay.  We will have our big barbeque here and  Don will announce the results so far.

It's been a great trip so far.  We look forward to you joining us.

See you soon. Dick

I also have not heard from Mike Henry so I expect my emails to him have not been read as I only have his regular email address and not his "volume" limited skymate satellite address.
