There 's
a dizzying array of new electronics available for our
boats - many
of which are designed to connect together in a network.
Networking your boat's
instruments and systems can provide amazing new
functionality for navigation, communication and the
monitoring of your boat, but networking also comes with
headaches. Troubles include incompatibilities between
vendors, network design issues and complex system
troubleshooting, which can often discourage boaters from
gaining the advantages of a networked system.
This class will introduce the world of
marine networking at a practical hands-on level.
We'll
talk about some practical advantages of a marine network
and also some of the pitfalls, including some real-world
examples and troubleshooting tips. While our instructor
is an electrical engineer, the class is designed for the
average boater - not
for network geeks. We'll
even have a live network for demonstration and
troubleshooting purposes in the classroom and there will
be plenty of time for Q&A.
Call (253) 241-7432 to reserve your space!
