Cruise Hosts: Sue and Scott Johnson

Your hosts, Scott and Sue invite you join us on the tranquil western shore of Orcas Island, at the Deer Harbor Marina, a true gem of the San Juan Islands, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, warm hospitality, and relaxed island charm. Surrounded by forested hills and calm, protected waters, the marina provides an idyllic setting where boaters are greeted by stunning sunsets, abundant wildlife, and a peaceful sense of escape. Thoughtfully maintained docks, welcoming staff, and easy access to the quaint Deer Harbor community make it both comfortable and inviting, while the island’s unspoiled landscapes and quiet rhythms create an atmosphere that feels timeless.

ANCHORING

There is good anchorage in the harbor however…
Anchoring Warning! There is a sunken boat that snags anchors that is not marked on charts. Opposite us in the harbor is a cliff, marked on charts as Steep Point. If you are under the cliff on the west side of the harbor and looking east see the end of D-Dock, our southernmost dock, that is a risky place to drop anchor. We recommend moving north of D-Dock or south of the fuel dock to be safe.

Remember to contact Deer Harbor Marina to Register for your slip. Let them know you're with Gig Harbor Yacht Club. The phone number is (360)376-3037.
