The Future of Sail at GHYC - Tuesday February 19th at 6:00 PM
An evening of education and discussion regarding GHYC sail programs will be held at the club on Tuesday February 19th at 6:00 PM. Members that are sailors or that have an interest in helping define the future of GHYC sail programs should plan to attend. Tom Gray will present an overview covering the history of GHYC sail racing, sail events and the sail activities of other Puget Sound area clubs. An open discussion will be held after the presentation on the future vision for the GHYC sail programs. Light snacks and drinks will be available. The GHYC Junior Sail program is not included in the scope of this meeting.
The GHYC Islands Race on March 16th, is the 4th Race of the Southern Sound Sailing Series. The race starts outside of Gig Harbor entrance, goes up Colvos Passage to Blake Island and back to Gig Harbor a distance about 29.5nm. GHYC Islands Race Volunteers Needed: Some members have already volunteered to help support the Islands Race on Saturday March 16th. If you want to see the race first hand, we need help onboard the committee boat to help start and time the race.
